Get started as a user

If you are invited to this app as a user, proceed to Get started as a user section to learn how to connect your Trello account.

Features

  • Create cards on Slack: Allow team members to create Trello cards from Slack messages from a dedicated Slack channel using ticket emoji.
  • Review and manage cards from Slack: Get notified of new Trello cards in your dedicated Slack channel. Allow your team to follow card updates and share comments in a Slack message thread. Facilitate seamless communication between the project team and users.
  • Take Trello actions on Slack: Create, view, and access information on Trello cards, update their status, add checklists, checkitems, and much more directly from Slack.
  • Trello Zendesk integration: Get Zendesk ticket notifications in a dedicated Slack channel and create linked Trello cards in seconds. Zendesk ticket comments can be viewed in Trello cards and vice versa.

How to get started

Step 1. Install Trello board management

Visit Trello board management in app directory and click Install button at top right corner.

Step 2. Connect to Trello, Slack and Zendesk

After installing the app, you'll be prompted to connect your Slack workspace, Trello and Zendesk accounts.

Complete Trello connection

  1. Click Connect near Trello connection.
  2. Enter your API key and Token on the opening screen.

If you have not connected your Slack workspace, you can click Connect near Slack connection.

You can also add your Slack workspace by navigating to Workspace settings page from left menu and then switching to Slack workspace tab.

If you do not see Workspace settings page, contact with your workspace admin.

Complete Zendesk connection

  1. Click Connect near Zendesk (Oauth) connection and proceed to authentication in Zendesk via OAuth2.
  2. You will be asked to sign in to your Zendesk account if you haven't already.
  3. Click Connect app. You’ll be redirected to Actioner upon successful authorization.

Step 3. Complete setup

Setup Trello board management

  1. Run Create webhooks in Trello. This workflow creates webhooks for all your Trello boards. You can optionally enter a description for the webhook.

  2. Run Setup Zendesk webhook. This workflow creates a webhook and ticket related triggers in your Zendesk account. The webhook is created with the name you enter to run this workflow.

  3. Run Configure Trello channel by selecting a channel for notifications. You can re-run this workflow to update your channel.

Step 4. Invite your team

By default Everyone in your Actioner workspace is added to your app as Runner.

To grant app admin permission to a user, go to the Permissions tab of your app and add users or groups via + Add permission button. If you can't find the users you want to add, ensure they have been invited to your Actioner workspace.

Get started as a user

If you are invited to this app as a user, you need to complete your Trello connection. This connection is required for you to take actions on Trello notifications and to run workflows from Actioner shortcut in Slack.

  1. Click Connect near Trello connection.
  2. Enter your API key and Token on the opening screen.
