How to get startedβ
Step 1. Install kudosβ
Visit kudos in app directory and click Install button at top right corner.
Step 2. Connect to Slackβ
After installing the app, you'll be prompted to connect your Slack workspace.
Complete Slack connectionβ
If you have not connected your Slack workspace, you can click Connect near Slack connection.
You can also add your Slack workspace by navigating to Workspace settings page from left menu and then switching to Slack workspace tab.
If you do not see Workspace settings page, contact with your workspace admin.
Step 3. Invite your teamβ
By default Everyone in your Actioner workspace is added to your app as Runner.
To grant app admin permission to a user, go to the Permissions tab of your app and add users or groups via + Add permission button. If you can't find the users you want to add, ensure they have been invited to your Actioner workspace.
How to give kudosβ
Once you install the app, you are ready to show your appreciation in your Slack workspace.
Give kudos to a co-worker privatelyβ
In Slack, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select Give kudos π. Select your teammate, enter how many gems you want to give and optionally add your personal message. Your colleague will receive a DM from Kudos π by Actioner, showing the kudos message from you.
Give kudos by mentioning your co-workerβ
For a public shout-out, mention your colleague and include the π gem emoji in your message. Do not forget to invite Kudos π by Actioner to your channel!

React with π gem emoji to a colleague's message in your team channel. Do not forget to invite Kudos π by Actioner to your channel!
How to view your scoreβ
To see how many gems you've, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select My kudos π.
How to check your daily limitβ
To see how many gems you've left for the day, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select Check daily limit.
How to view scoreboardβ
To view the top awardees and top givers, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select Scoreboard.
Kudos shopβ
Kudos shop allows your team to use their gems to redeem a variety of rewarding options, from gift cards to team-building activities and more.
Redeeming rewards with your gemsβ
When you're ready to get a reward with your gems,
In Slack, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing
/kudos
and then select Kudos shop.Select Redeem option for the item you want to spend your gems on.
Adding an item to shopβ
If you're a shop manager, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select Add shop item. When someone redeems their gems, Kudos π by Actioner sends a DM to shop managers and informs them about the purchase.
Deleting an item from shopβ
If you're a shop manager, call Kudos π by Actioner by typing /kudos
and then select Delete shop item.
Kudos settingsβ
Daily gem limitsβ
By default, each user can give a maximum of 5 π gems every day. You can update the limit directly from config or by using AI with documentation.
Updating daily limit from configβ
Go to Configs tab and then open kudos_settings. Update day_limit
parameter and apply your changes.
Updating daily limit from documentationβ
Go to Documentation tab of your app and open Kudos Settings.
Update Weekly kudos limit and save your change.
Navigate to Configs tab of your app, open kudos_settings and then click on Generate config with AI button on the right panel.
This will use Kudos Settings document you just updated and generate the new version of your config. When your config is ready, click Preview config button at bottom right and apply the changes after reviewing them.
Scoreboard notificationsβ
This app also introduces automated scoreboard notifications highlighting top 3 kudos receivers & givers in the last week and in the last month.
To update when to get scoreboard notifications, go to Jobs tab of your app and then open Monthly scoreboard or Weekly scoreboard. Edit the time the job will run and save your changes.
You can also update the notification channel directly from config or by using AI with documentation.
Updating notification channel from configβ
Go to Configs tab and then open kudos_settings. Update scoreboard_channel
parameter with your channel's name and apply your changes.
Updating notification channel from documentationβ
Go to Documentation tab of your app and open Kudos Settings.
Update Scoreboard channel and save your change.
Navigate to Configs tab of your app, open kudos_settings and then click on Generate config with AI button on the right panel.
This will use Kudos Settings document you just updated and generate the new version of your config. When your config is ready, click Preview config button at bottom right and apply the changes after reviewing them.
Shop managersβ
Shop managers are the users with the permission to add new items to your shop or remove outdated ones. You can update shop managers directly from config or by using AI with documentation.
Updating managers from configβ
Go to Configs tab and then open kudos_settings. Update shop_managers
with the emails of your preferred users and apply your changes.
Updating managers from documentationβ
Go to Documentation tab of your app and then open Kudos Settings.
Update the emails of your shop managers on Kudos Shop section and save your change.
Navigate to Configs tab of your app, open kudos_settings and then click on Generate config with AI button on the right panel.
This will use Kudos Settings document you just updated and generate the new version of your config. When your config is ready, click Preview config button at bottom right and apply the changes after reviewing them.
Silent modeβ
By default, Actioner sends separate thread messages each time a user gives kudos to a colleague. If you find these messages noisy, you may enable silent mode. Note that, in silent mode, your team continues to receive DMs for private kudos.
You can update silent mode directly from config or by using AI with documentation.

Go to Configs tab and then open kudos_settings. Update silent_mode
parameter and apply your changes.
