Incident war rooms in Slack

Bring everyone to the same Slack channel with key information about the current incident in PagerDuty.

How it works:

  1. When there is a new PagerDuty incident, an incident war room is created by Actioner. War room is a Slack channel dedicated for an incident and brings all stakeholders together and helps them communicate faster during the incident and collaborate on resolving the incident.
  2. Actioner invites all stakeholders, the incident responders and the incident assignees to war room.
  3. Stakeholders can quickly catch up with the summary of the incident and immediately understand context.
  4. War room is real-time synced with the incident in PagerDuty. Stakeholders get notified of all updates through the incident lifecycle.
  5. Slack notifications sent to incident war room include smart action buttons that enable your incident response teams to manage the incident without leaving Slack. They can quickly add responders, or update the incident.
  6. Actioner also sends smart reminders to the incident war rooms. They remind your incident response teams to create Statuspage incidents, follow-up tasks in Jira, or write post-mortems right after the incident resolution.
  7. During the incident lifecycle, stakeholders also get posts such as how to best handle incidents or how to write post-mortems.
  8. If you are using Jira, you can quickly create follow-up tasks when the incident is resolved.
  9. If you are using Statuspage, you can automatically create Statuspage incident when the PagerDuty incident is created. As the PagerDuty incident's status changes, the incident in Statuspage is updated accordingly. If you do not want to create Statuspage incidents automatically, but still want to announce specific incidents through Statuspage, Actioner's incident management solution also enables you to create and update Statuspage incidents through the smart reminders posted in incident war rooms.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this app with a different incident management tool other than PagerDuty?

This app is particularly designed for PagerDuty but you can easily adapt it to work with any other incident management tool with public APIs. Add a new connection for your tool, and update the actions and workflows accordingly.

We don't use Jira or Statuspage in our incident management process. Can I still use this app?

Yes! The workflows and actions designed for issue tracking or external communication are independent of the other actions and workflows. Your app will work even if they're not a part of your incident management process.

Can I use another issue tracking tool other than Jira?

Yes. Follow-up tasks can be created with any other tools with public APIs. Add a new connection for your ticketing tool, and update the Create follow-up issue action accordingly.

Our incident management process includes more tools. Can I also use them via Actioner?

You can use as many tools as you want with Actioner as long as they have public APIs. You can create new connections, actions, and workflows that send data from your own tools and combine them with the existing Incident management app.
