What’s it for

You can now let your Scrum masters or team leads set up a session in Slack to estimate tasks for the upcoming sprint. Actioner also provides a dedicated Planning Poker channel as your main spot in Slack for all things sprint planning. It's there to make your planning easier and boost teamwork. You'll find it helps you manage the game and have clearer discussions about estimates.

How it works

1. When you run Create game workflow in Slack, a new Planning Poker game is created, Actioner automatically generates a dedicated channel. It sends an informing message for you to take game actions quickly.
2. The Planning Poker game initiates when the Start/Next button is clicked. Issues are progressively sent to this game channel for estimation.
   💡 All actions related to the game, from the start of the game to its end, are managed in this channel.
3. The game concludes once the estimation for all issues is completed and the End game button is clicked. 
4. Subsequently, a scheduled job is set to run 7 days later. This job archives the dedicated game channel and erases all game-related information from Actioner, ensuring a clean slate for future games.

How to start Planning poker in Slack

1. Install Planning poker app to your Slack workspace.
2. Type /planning in Slack and select the Create game workflow.
3. In the prompted form, enter the game details such as; Name, estimation options, and invitation channel.‍
4. Then click the Create button.
5. Once the game is created, Actioner creates a dedicated channel for the game and sends an invitation to the Slack channel you selected.
