Bringing more power to GitHub Actions Workflows app

GitHub Actions workflows for Slack by Actioner have already helped DevOps teams in their daily work routines. 

You were able to convert one GitHub Action into a ready-to-run workflow in Slack. And if you needed to run multiple GitHub Actions in Slack, you had to repeat this process.

But, we’ve promised that there are no limits. And, we have updated our existing app, making it easier than ever to run your GitHub workflows from Slack!

Now, the new version of Actioner introduces a really cool extension that automatically generates GitHub workflow parameters during runtime.

What is waiting for you?

From now on, after you connect to your GitHub account, all you need to do is type the /actioner command in any Slack channel and select the Run workflow option.

In the prompting form in Slack, after selecting the organization and repository, Actioner will display all GitHub Actions in your chosen repository. 

And the best part is, when you select a workflow, its parameters will be automatically gathered. Simply enter the values for the parameters and click the Run button.

Isn't that crazy?

Here’s how to get started with the new version;

1. Whether you’re already using the app or not, you should install GitHub Actions workflows to your Slack workspace.
2. Connect your GitHub Account and Slack workspace if you haven't done it already. And that's it! 
3. After that, you can trigger any workflow from Slack, you don’t need any other configuration.

💡 If you want to receive notifications about workflow run results in Slack, proceed with the setup workflows. Run Subscribe to workflow runs to create a webhook on your chosen GitHub repository. Then, use the Select channel for workflow runs action to choose a workflow and a Slack channel. The run result of the selected workflow will be sent to the specified Slack channel, and workflow job results will be posted as thread messages in your Slack workspace.
