💡 Before we begin, make sure you've installed Actioner's Zendesk app from the app directory and established connections with your Zendesk and Slack accounts. Once you've completed these steps, you're ready to go!

Steps to Add Zendesk to a private Slack channel:

Step 1: Add the Bot to Your Private Channel 

To enable interaction between the Zendesk Support by Actioner bot and your private channel, you need to add it manually.

  • Navigate to the private channel: Open Slack and access the private channel where you wish to manage Zendesk tickets.
  • Add the Zendesk Support by Actioner bot to the channel: Simply mention Zendesk Support by Actioner in the channel, and the bot will be added.

Step 2: Run configure your channels and forms workflow 

Once the bot is added to your private channel, it's time to configure the channel settings.

  • Run the configuration workflow: In Slack, type /support and select Configure your channels and forms workflow.
  • Set your triage and request channels: In the configuration workflow, select the channel fields to designate your triage and request channels. Your private channel should now be listed among the available options.

With the private channel configured, you can now manage Zendesk tickets directly within Slack.

  • Receive notifications: The private channel will receive notifications for new tickets, updates, and requests as per your configurations.
  • Interact with tickets: Take actions on the tickets within your channels to manage and update them. For instance, you can assign the ticket to yourself using the eyes emoji, comment on it within the thread, or escalate and edit the tickets using buttons.
