New Jira issue notifications

Get Slack notifications for new Jira issues.

What’s it for?

Actioner’s real-time notifications are the easiest way for your engineers to track and manage Jira issues in Slack. When a new issue is created in Jira, Actioner sends a message to your preferred channel and keeps your team up-to-date with issue details, enabling them to manage issues right in Slack and ends context switching.

Not only Actioner routes issue notifications to right teams, but also empowers them with the smart actions that can be run directly in Slack, such as viewing its details, assigning or changing status, logging work or commenting on it.

How it works

  1. When a new Jira issue is created, your development team receives a real-time notification in their preferred channel.
  2. Notifications sent to the development channel contain smart actions, such as view, assign, change status, log work and comment on issues — all within Slack.
  3. You can add eyes 👀 emoji to assign the issue to yourself.
  4. Actioner also listens and processes issue updates, whether the issue is updated in Slack or in Jira.
  5. Any updates of that issue can be tracked from the same message. Actioner updates the message as the issue is updated and shares the update details through threads.
  6. Actioner detects issue updates in a smart way and starts a new message, if it did not notify you before for that issue (for e.g. if your issue was created before installing Actioner’s Jira app).
  7. Actioner also updates the Jira issue links with a link to the thread so that you can navigate to Slack conversation and get up-to-date whenever needed.

Actioner enables your engineers to keep up with new issues as soon as they are created. Through Slack notifications, your teams can quickly catch up with the context to track any updates and comments on the issue as soon as they happen.
