How it works
- Actioner collects all birthdays in your preferred Slack channel by sending your co-workers an introductory message and prompting everyone to enter their own birthdays.
- You can opt out of celebrations by keeping your birthday private.
- You can select at what time you want to celebrate your office birthdays.
- You can select when you want to remind your team of upcoming birthdays. Your team will start private hints about upcoming birthdays and get ready for the big day.
How to get started
- Sign up to Actioner.
- Install Birthday app from Actioner app directory.
- Connect your Slack workspace.
- Proceed to set up action Get started. Select your channel and the time you want to celebrate your office birthdays.
- Select if you want Actioner to send a welcome message to your celebrations channel and to send DM to your team about entering their birthdays.
- Choose whether to send your team reminders about other co-workers’ birthdays on their birthday or 1 day or 1 week before.

Is it possible to turn on and off birthday reminders?
Yes, during Birthday app setup you can select the reminders you want to get in Slack. Available options are:
- Remind on birthday
- Remind one day before
- Remind one week before
Also, each user can manage reminder notifications for themselves through 🔕Manage reminders button on the notification sent by Actioner.
Can I keep my birthday or anniversary private?
Yes. After setup, Actioner will send a message to collect birthdays. The action button will allow you to add your birthday or anniversary, you can select the option to keep your birthday or anniversary private on the apppearing screen.
Is my age visible to others?
No, your birth year or your age are not disclosed in celebration notifications.
Do you have the option to add custom celebration dates?
Yes, you can create your own celebration dates and optionally schedule it to repeat every year.
How can I see the upcoming birthdays?
In Slack, you can run the action named Upcoming birthdays.
Call Actioner from shortcuts in Slack, or simply type '/actioner' and start typing Upcoming birthdays. Then, select the user(s) or the month.
How can I see the upcoming anniversaries?
In Slack, you can run the action named Upcoming anniversaries.

Can I update the birthday messages sent to celebrations channel?
If you are an app admin, you can update the messages sent to channel. Go to the action named Congratulate birthday in channel and update the messages in the function named BirthdayMessage.
Can I update the template birthday celebration messages?
If you are an app admin, you can update the pre-built birthday celebration templates. Go to the action named Choose a bday message and update the messages in the function named BirthdayMessage.
